Logistical Overview
- Date: Saturday March 8th 2025
- Location: Jesus College, Oxford University
- Who: Years 11-13 students (not necessarily studying Mathematics or Further Mathematics!)
- Team Size: 4 students – no more than two of whom are in Year 13.
- Cost: Free!
Teams must be accompanied by a responsible adult for the day (for example, a parent or a teacher).
Due to this year being a pilot year, the size of the event will be heavily restricted and therefore not all teams who sign up may be able to participate live.
Key Dates and Times
- Sunday 1st December, 2024: Application opens.
- Saturday 1st February, 2025: Deadline to apply for a team.
- Early February, 2025: Teams are notified if they have been selected.
- Late February, 2025: Deadline for notified teams to register.
- Saturday 8th March, 2025: Competition day.

Can teams have fewer than four students? Yes, but ideally not – there are no measures in the rounds to balance for teams with fewer than four students. If you don’t have four students, we will automatically register the team as looking for groups: we will combine these students with others to form teams of four for the day of the competition.
How many teams can participate from my school? Due to the limited capacity of this year’s competition, we cannot guarantee schools can have multiple teams – let alone any! Do let us know if you would like to send multiple teams, however.
If one of my students can’t participate, but there’s another student who wanted to join, is it possible to swap them? We can’t have five of your students show up as one team, but we are willing to discuss it on a case-by-case basis. Get in touch.
Is the venue accessible? Yes – there is full wheelchair access at the venue. If you have any other accessibility concerns or adjustment requests – e.g., visual access – mention it in the registration form or get in touch.
